Jacob Aman

Founder, CEO

I am an entrepreneur with a background in regenerative agriculture, web and software development, cloud systems architecture, permaculture design and environmental science.

After fifteen years of completing designs for regenerative design projects and using various GIS, CAD and 3D rendering software, I have yearned for a more streamlined, easy to use and comprehensive design platform.

In 2001 at the age of sixteen, prompted by an intensive meditation practice and a desire to live a simpler agrarian life, I began working on organic farms in the Snoqualmie River Valley near Seattle, Washington. Since that time, I have spent most of my adult life pursuing what I describe as the Ecotopian Vision: that humans can weave ancient artifice and ecological wisdom, modern science, technology, art and a humanistic ethos into community design that regenerates biodiversity, heals ecosystems and creates resource abundance.
In my pursuit of these ideals, I have followed a personal development and career trajectory that has lead up to the founding of Ecotopian Vision Systems. From my early days working on small to mid-sized organic farms, to contributing to the development of ecovillage/intentional community projects, to crafting permaculture designs for sites, I have found great joy in remaining engaged in caring for healthy ecosystems.
I studied biology and ecology in college, have taken multiple permaculture design and advanced courses, apprenticed with various permaculture teachers and practitioners, worked as environmental scientist assessing and remediating contaminated sites, and volunteered and consulted for numerous environmental and agroecology organizations.
